Mayor Alex NuttallMayor of Barrie

Aside from being recently sworn in as the 47th mayor of Barrie, the most important title that Mayor Alex Nuttall has ever been awarded is “dad’ to his two wonderful kids, Caleb and Anabella, who mean the world to him. Having immigrated to Canada in 1986, and growing up in government housing in Barrie, he often expresses how blessed he was to have been raised in a community with such incredible support and opportunity. Local programs helped his family with playing sports, Christmas, and even back to school supplies. Nuttall believes in giving back to his community through his charitable endeavours as co-founder of PIE Education and as the chair of the Boots and Hearts Barn Burner Charity Hockey Game. Mayor Nuttall has a long political history, as a former Barrie City Councillor, and MP representing Barrie-Springwater-Oro-Medonte, you could say that Public Service is not only his calling, but it’s his passion.
