Terri is a professional urban planner with 40 years’ experience in the private sector. She spent most her early career with consulting company May, Pirie, Dakin & Associates in Burlington, Ontario, and then went on to run the Planning and Development division for the Starward Homes group of companies. Terri founded T. Johns Consulting Group in 2014 and as President, guides the company’s direction in the urban planning, design, and project management. With a partner on board, the company rebranded this last February to Landwise.

Terri is a proud graduate of two Hamilton educational institutions. She has diplomas from Mohawk College in Broadcast Journalism and Municipal Planning & Development. While working full-time as a consultant, she graduated Summa Cum Laude from McMaster University. Terri is a member of the Ontario Professional Planning Institute and the Canadian Institute of Planners.

In her personal time, Terri is steadfast in her passion of giving back to the community. In 2024, she received the Order of Hamilton to recognize her countless volunteer contributions to the YWCA Hamilton and West End Home Builder’s Association. As Board President of the YWCA, and Past President of the WE HBA, Terri continuously broadens the voice of women at the table and contributes towards positive community building.
